Dr. and Mrs. James Philip Huggins of Birmingham, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Haley Anne Huggins, of Birmingham, Ala., to Dr. Clay Alexander Spitler of Chattanooga, Tenn., son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Alexander Spitler of Cumming.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Eugene Huggins of Birmingham, Ala., and the late Mr. Huggins and Mrs. John Thomas Huggins of Panama City Beach, Fla. She is a graduate of Auburn University where she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She is employed as a labor and delivery nurse at the University of Alabama at Birmingham hospital.
The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Richard Mohan Kane of Atlanta and the late Mr. Richard Kane and Mrs. Boyd Alexander Spitler of Lawrenceville and the late Mr. Spitler. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he received a bachelor's degree in biology and also a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia where he received his medical degree. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He is employed as an orthopedic surgery resident in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The wedding is planned for June 20 in Birmingham, Ala.
