McCartney to sing at Mets stadium in July
NEW YORK - The New York Mets are inviting an old friend to play at their new stadium.
But not just any old friend - Sir Paul McCartney.
The music legend will perform the first concerts at Citi Field on July 17 and 18.
In a statement, McCartney says he's excited to be the first to play the stadium, and he's "really looking forward to a buzzing show."
'Nashville Star' contestant sues singer
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A former "Nashville Star" contestant who filed assault and harassment charges against country star John Rich is now suing the singer.
In a lawsuit filed Monday in Circuit Court, Jared Ashley cites the assault and harassment allegations and contends that Rich and Rich's attorney defamed him by falsely telling the media that Ashley demanded $2.9 million to drop the charges.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
Rich is part of the hit duo Big & Rich.
Woman sues comedian over 'Bruno' fight
LANCASTER, California - Sacha Baron Cohen's new movie isn't in theaters yet, but it's already producing the sort of buzz and legal backlash that his last hit, "Borat," created.
A woman is suing the 37-year-old British comedian and studio NBC Universal, claiming an incident at a charity bingo tournament that was filmed for the upcoming "Bruno" left her disabled.
Richelle Olson claims in the suit filed May 22 she was severely injured after struggling with Cohen and his film crew at the event, held in Palmdale, Calif., two years ago. The lawsuit states she now needs a wheelchair or cane to move around.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages of more than $25,000.
Phone and e-mail messages sent to publicists for Cohen and NBC Universal weren't immediately returned Wednesday.
"Bruno," is scheduled for U.S. release July 10.
