Doris Mildred Vandeford, age 80, of Lilburn, GA, entered into rest on July 23, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her 5 Children and their spouses; Hugh & Delores Vandeford, Jr. of Auburn, Kathy & Tom Hall of Lilburn, Nancy & Wayne Nash of Jefferson, Debbie & Tony Teale of Bethlehem, Russell & Jean Vandeford of Loganville; 12 Grandchildren, Michael & Matthew Vandeford, James & Joseph Hall, Corrie & Emily Nash, Christopher, Justin & Chad Teale, Rusty, Jacob & Olivia Vandeford; 4 Great Grandchildren, Landon, Lily, Mayberry & Kara Vandeford; Sisters, Jeannette Holcomb, Geneva Masters, Shirley Leach & Joy Waldrip all of Lawrenceville; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other Relatives and Friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Hugh Dorsey Vandeford, Sr. Mrs. Vandeford was born on April 28, 1929 in Gwinnett Co., GA to Joycie Mae Barrett Johnson & Joseph Darling Johnson. She was a devoted Christian Lady who enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and sewing. She had also been on several cruises and really strived over the last several years to do things she would not normally have done in her lifetime. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. The Service Celebrating the Life of Doris Mildred Vandeford will held Sunday, July 28, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Dr. George Thomas officiating. Interment Oakland Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
