LAWRENCEVILLE - Indictments handed down Thursday include two cases of kidnapping with bodily injury and a man charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
On April 28, police say Jose Luis Tiloco-Garcia entered Pro Wings Cafe on Singleton Road in Norcross after being asked not to by management. According to indictments, Tiloco-Garcia greeted a Gwinnett County police officer responding to the scene by swinging a metal chair at him. Tiloco-Garcia then struck an employee with the chair, according to reports, leading to an additional aggravated assault charge. In a May 3 incident, Burt Everett Thompson, of Stone Mountain, and Lithonia resident Damion Roger Buchanan - aka Kevin Wayne Maynard - are charged with kidnapping with bodily injury and three counts of aggravated assault. Jail records show they are also charged with armed robbery. Thompson, a Jamaican native, is also being held for immigration, records show. According to indictments, the pair pistol-whipped a man and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from him while also pointing guns at the man's wife. Also charged with kidnapping with bodily injury in a separate incident is Keith Lane Wingate, who has listed addresses in Norcross and Athens. According to indictments, on Jan. 9, Wingate abducted a woman and assaulted her, causing lacerations, a broken nose and other facial fractures.More like this story
