LAWRENCEVILLE - A jury this week convicted Colin Foster Brown of killing his friend in a drunken crash two years ago.
Following the conviction, Superior Court Judge Warren Davis sentenced Brown to 15 years in prison, with 12 to serve. The remaining three years will be spent on probation, Davis ruled. Brown, 33, was driving a BMW in January 2007 when it skidded off Herrington Road and slammed into a tree. His lone passenger, Michael Dale, 24, died at the scene. Brown and the victim had just left a nearby bar and grill when he lost control near Miss Irene Lane in Lawrenceville. A witness testified that Brown, whose leg was severely injured in the crash, urged him to lie to police about who had been driving the totaled car. Jurors found Brown guilty Monday morning of three of four counts, including DUI and reckless driving.More like this story
