F. Douglas “Doug” Mooney, age 59 of Duluth, GA, died suddenly on Sunday, July 19, 2009. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Duluth, GA. The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 6-8 PM at First Baptist Church, Duluth, GA. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997 In memory of Doug Mooney. Mr. Mooney was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Mooney and Virginia Mooney Holbert. Brothers, Irving Mooney, Mitch Mooney, Harold Mooney and Eugene Mooney. Sister, Freda Mooney Cutlip. Doug is survived by his wife, Ann “Dodie” Mooney, Duluth, GA. They were married 36 years on June 30, 2009. Also surviving are his children, Erin Mooney Henry and husband Justin, Andrea Mooney West and husband Ashley all of Raleigh, NC, Michael Mooney and Katelyn Mooney, Duluth, GA. Grandchildren, Halle West, Ben West, Laurel Henry and Caroline West. Brothers, David Mooney, La Canada, CA, Vic Mooney, Milan, OH, Forrest Mooney, Loveland, OH, and Gregg Mooney, Suwanee, GA. Sister, Twila Mooney Meredith, Fairmount, WV. 27 Nieces and Nephews. Doug was a native of Fairmount, WV and had lived in metro Atlanta for the past 13 years.
