SNELLVILLE - A natural gas leak at U.S. Highway 78 and Knollwood Drive night in Snellville on Monday night caused authorities to evacuate three restaurants and close the road between Scenic Highway and Henry Clower Boulevard.
The leak from an 8-inch main line was caused by a construction crew working on the highway, said Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department. An emergency crew from Atlanta Gas Light responded to fix the leak. Snellville police diverted traffic around the area. No injuries were reported as of 10:30 p.m. Monday.More like this story
