Letters: Scare tactics won't fool Gwinnettians

I've read Chairman Charles Bannister's column regarding the public's refusal to endorse the commission's proposal for a 25 percent increase in property taxes for the upcoming fiscal year. Although he makes the effort to appear to welcome such input, it's my opinion that he's really quite angry about it and consequently is going to "show us" just how terrible it's going to be as a result of defying the BOC on this issue.

Is he proposing budget cuts in noncritical areas, of which there are plenty? No. A thousand times no! His proposals for cuts include police, fire, emergecy response and judges.

This ploy of trying to scare us for wanting our government to be fiscally responsible has been used by politicians since day one. Mr. Bannister, this time it won't work.
