3 sought in violent carjacking

NORCROSS - Police are searching for three gunmen responsible for a Saturday carjacking and assault at an apartment complex near Norcross.

The victim, a 20-year-old resident of Champion Park Apartments, told police he was assaulted by three black-clad men with handguns as he arrived home about 1 a.m.

The attack happened in a parking lot near Graves Road, located off South Norcross-Tucker Road, said the victim, who suffered a black eye and bloody nose, according to a Gwinnett police report.

The victim told police three Hispanic men accosted him as he walked to his apartment, forced him to lie down between two cars, beat him and ordered him to cough up the keys to his 2001 Ford Expedition, tag number BAU9124.

They inquired if he had televisions in his apartment, and the victim "told them 'yes,' but there were friends in there as well," a responding officer wrote in the report.

The suspects fled in the Expedition without entering the apartment.

The victim described one assailant as "chubby" and the other two as tall and slim, all with black hair and black handguns. His vehicle is white with a rear bumper that's also painted white, the report says.

Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said no arrests had been made in the case as of Monday.
