BUFORD - Gwinnett police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a sleeping woman early Thursday during a party at the Buford home of an Atlanta Falcons player, authorities said.
The incident happened about 5 a.m. at the Huddlestone Lane residence of Harry Douglas IV.
Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said Douglas is not considered a suspect.
The alleged victim, who is in her early 20s, told police she became tired at the party and went to sleep in a bedroom of the home. She awoke to find the man sexually assaulting her, said Gwinnett police spokesman David Schiralli.
The woman fled the home to a nearby parking lot where she called 911 from her cell phone. She provided police with a possible name and address of the suspect, Schiralli said.
When police responded to that address, the homeowner said the man had already left. Police interviewed the homeowner and determined he had no knowledge of the incident, Schiralli said.
Schiralli said a description of the suspect was not available Thursday.
