BUFORD - A wreck on Interstate 85 south of Buford Drive claimed two lives Monday evening.
According to Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge, firefighters were dispatched at about 7:29 p.m. and found a vehicle had run off the roadway and down an embankment. One passenger was ejected and another was trapped inside the vehicle. Both victims were dead at the scene, Rutledge said. Another passenger escaped serious injury and was taken to a local hospital. All northbound lanes were closed as emergency personnel worked the scene.More like this story
