Gwinnett Daily Post
Chateau Elan's Groove with the Grapes Summer Concert Series is just getting under way and already shows are beginning to sell out.
Tickets for tonight's Swingin' Medallions concert were sold out Tuesday, but Gwinnett residents will have another opportunity to see the band in September.
The South Carolina-based, eight-member Medallions have opened and closed the summer concert series for the past couple years. Tickets are still available for the group's Sept. 5 performance but are going quickly, said Paul DeBoer, marketing coordinator for Chateau Elan.
"They've been a solid show for us every single time we've had them," DeBoer said.
The Swingin' Medallions will be followed by Atlanta group The Tams with their trademark tam o'shanter hats on July 25. The Embers will bring their signature style of rhythm and blues combined with heart and soul to Chateau Elan on Aug. 18, while The Jesters will play close to their Athens home Sept. 5.
"It's a very laid back atmosphere," DeBoer said of the concerts. "Some people bring a simple dinner, some people bring a full on spread and decorate their table."
Paddy's Irish Pub will also offer dinner to-go and a cash bar will be open during each event. Shag dance lessons, which are included in the admission price, begin at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased in advance and will be available the day of each concert while supplies last.
