LAWRENCEVILLE - Authorities didn't have to look far to find a man wanted in connection with a Dec. 11 shooting death at a Club Drive convenience store.
Gwinnett deputies arrested Raymone Cook just before 7 p.m. Friday, according to department spokeswoman Stacey Bourbonnais, after learning he was serving a 60-day sentence at the Gwinnett County Correctional Institution for violating probation. Cook was picked up by deputies and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on murder charges. One suspect was taken into custody the night Leo Fletcher III was found in a gray Chevrolet Malibu in the 1000 block of Legacy Lane - about a mile-and-a-half from the site of the shooting - dead of multiple gunshot wounds. That man, 20-year-old Dion Harris Jr. of Sacramento, reportedly told police he and Fletcher exchanged gunfire when a marijuana deal turned sour. Bourbonnais said Cook is accused of driving to the Club Drive location to buy marijuana when Fletcher was killed.More like this story
