LILBURN - Police are looking for a man who robbed a Subway sandwich shop Sunday night after ordering a sandwich.
Police said a black man wearing a large, black jacket, gray shirt, jeans and a gray knit cap walked into the store at 4050 Lawrenceville Highway at about 7:14 p.m. and, after placing his order, pulled out a black revolver and pointed it at a clerk standing in front of the cash register. After the man demanded money, police said, the clerk opened the register and placed the change drawer, along with paper money, on the counter. Police said the suspect grabbed the paper money, put it in his left jacket pocket and left through the front door, running toward a nearby car wash. Police immediately responded to a silent alarm tripped by one of the clerks, but were unable to find the suspect. The robbery was captured on surveillance video. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Matt Lake at 770-638-2240. The robbery marks the second time in a week an area Subway was robbed. On Jan. 20 a man walked into a Winder Subway and robbed the store after ordering a sandwich.More like this story
