Police looking for teenage girl

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett police are looking for a 14-year-old girl who was last seen at about noon Monday.

A Mattie's Call has been issued for Aleshea Penn, who lives at the Holland Park Apartments on McKendree Church Road with her grandmother.

Police said Penn has the mental capacity of an 11-year-old.

Penn was reportedly in the area of Building No. 9 with a black man just before she disappeared. The man is described as being in his 20s, about 6 feet tall with short, dreadlocked hair. He was last seen, reports said, driving a four-door sedan, possibly silver.

Before her disappearance, Penn contacted several people in Cleveland, police said, telling them her biological mother, who lives in Ohio, was picking her up Thursday. Her mother last spoke to Penn at about 9 p.m. Monday, reports said.

Penn was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black Polo jacket. She has black hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

Anyone with information as to Penn's whereabouts is urged to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5300.
