James K. “Jim” Wilson, age 74, of Winder, GA died Friday, January 2, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center from complications related to Parkinson's Disease. Born in Edgewood, IL February 26, 1934 to the late John R. and Anne E. Ort Wilson, Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Germany at the close of the Korean War. He was a long-time resident of Monticello, IL and moved to Georgia in 1990 where he retired from a 25 year career with Prudential Insurance Co. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and the Dove Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bill Wilson of Hartville, IL and is survived by his Wife – Shelby J. Wilson, Brother – Jack Wilson of Terre Haute, IN, Sister – Vivian Boozer of Centralia, IL: Daughters and Sons-in-law – Julie and Dennis Becker of Winder, GA and Jill and John Overton of Cumming, GA: Granddaughter – Amanda Good of Winder. A memorial service for Mr. Wilson will be held Sunday, January 11, at 2:00 P.M. at Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Mac Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
