All-American game features Lee, Kent

Gwinnett County has become a hotbed for football talent over the last decade.

The rest of the country will get a taste of that talent today.

Norcross' Price Kent and Buford's Dallas Lee will get to see how they measure up against the nation's best in their final high school game. The duo will play in the Under Armour All-American game, which features 82 of the nation's top players, in the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

"It's awesome. Getting all of this top level talent together and playing. It's fun," Lee told Scout.com after Thursday's practice.

It's the second all-star game in a week for Lee. The Buford standout played in the GACA All-Star game on Monday in Columbus and then flew to Orlando for the week long festivities for the Under Armour game.

"It's a little faster pace. Bigger people, faster people," Lee said. "I play offense here and defense there, so it's a big switch."

Lee is rated the No. 41 defensive tackle in country, but is expected to play offensive line at Georgia next season. He committed to the Bulldogs in the summer and has graduated early so he can enroll at Georgia this week.

Lee, who led Buford to its second straight state championship and a 30-game winning streak, will play for the Black Team along with Kent.

Kent has blossomed into one of the top college prospects in the country.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defensive back had a scholarship offer from Boston College before he ever played a varsity football game as a junior. He led Norcross to the playoffs for the fourth-straight year and committed to Miami over the summer.

Now he'll see how he fares against the nation's top receivers.

"It's given us a chance to go up against different types of receivers - fast ones, tall ones, all of them," Kent told Scout.com. "The first day, I started kinda slow because I was still getting adjusted. Then I started getting the timing down and now I'm doing good. When I got here, I wasn't as highly rated as some of these other guys so I had to prove myself."

Former Oakland Raiders head coach Mike White will coach the Black Team, while former Buffalo Bills head coach Marv Levy will coach the White Team. The game will air live tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

It's the second year of the Under Armour All-American game and the second time Gwinnett County has a player in the game. Last year Buford's Omar Hunter, now a freshman at Florida, played in the game.

Lee will be playing with or against several of his future Bulldog teammates. Abry Jones is on the Black Team with Lee, while Washaun Ealey, Dexter Moody and Arthur Lynch are on the White Team.

Kent and Lee are two of 10 Georgia players in the game. The other Georgia players are Emanuel County Institute running back Ealey and linebacker Moody, Northside Warner Robins linebacker Eric Fields and defensive end Jones, Carver safety Darren Myles, Henry County receiver Jamal Patterson, Lowndes running back Greg Reid and Booker T. Washington defensive back Branden Smith.
