Carolyn Thompson Simpson, age 88, of Milledgeville, GA, formerly of Lawrenceville, GA entered into rest February 24, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by Daughter, Angela and Chris Sexstone of Duluth, GA; Son, Ken and Laura Simpson of Snellville, GA; 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, Bryan and Julie Sexstone and Kyle, Shelby & Liam of San Clemente, CA; Allison and Josh Nicoson and Logan & Gaby of Milledgeville, GA; Erin & Alex Stroud and Ben & Faith of McDonough, GA; Kate Simpson of Lawrenceville, GA; Drew Simpson of Snellville, GA; Sister, Mrs. Joe (Cleff) Mays of Lawrenceville, GA; 3 Brothers, Ralph Thompson of Hoschton, GA; Gerald & Margaret Thompson, Wendell & Shirley Thompson all of Lawrenceville, GA; Sister-in-law, Mrs. Bess Cronic of Gainesville, GA; Brother-in-law, Dennis Samples of Lawrenceville, GA; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Frank Simpson; Parents, Eunice Bramblett Thompson and Alvin W. Thompson; Brother, Neal Thompson; Sisters, Hazel Samples and Jeannette Anderson. Mrs. Simpson retired from the CDC as a Purchasing Agent after 30 years of service. She was a former member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church and had been a member of First United Methodist Church of Milledgeville for the past seven years. She loved sewing, cooking and working in her yard among all the beautiful flowers. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Simpson was the beloved matriarch of her family and will be missed by everyone that knew this wonderful lady. The Service Celebrating the Life of Carolyn T. Simpson will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Alexander Stroud officiating. Interment Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
