· Position: C

· Noteworthy: One of only three returning starters from last year's Class AAAAA state championship team, Freeman is the county's second-leading returning hitter after hitting .459 with 6 HRs and 34 RBIs. Returns to his natural position behind the plate after primarily serving as a designated hitter last season. Has signed to play college ball at Kennesaw State

· Position: LHP

· Noteworthy: One of the county's top returning pitchers, the senior lefty went 7-3 with a 2.79 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings in helping the Blue Devils to the second round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs, were they pushed eventual state champion Brookwood to three games, last season. Has signed with LSU

· Position: LF

· Noteworthy: The county's leading returning hitter, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound outfielder hit .500 with 6 HRs and 37 RBIs in leading the Panthers to the Class AAAAA state playoffs. A two-sport star, Jacobs has signed to play football and baseball at Auburn, but is also projected to be a high-round pick in this summer's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft

· Noteworthy: Savage was the Spartans' triple crown winner a year ago, hitting .413 with 8 HRs and 36 RBIs for a team that advanced to the Class AA state playoffs. Has signed to play alongside Jacobs at Auburn and is quickly garnering attention from pro scouts

School: GAC

Class: Senior

· Position: RHP/OF

· Noteworthy: The 6-5, 211-pound senior is perhaps the most decorated player in GAC history. He hit .387 with 7 HRs and 23 RBIs at the plate and was the Spartans' mound ace with a 7-0 record, a 1.17 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 36 innings last season. Having played in the 2008 Aflac All-American Game, Steckenrider has signed to play collegiately at Tennessee, but is also being projected to be selected in the early rounds of this summer's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft

Class: Senior

· Position: 3B

· Noteworthy: Tied with Freeman as Gwinnett's second-leading returning hitter after posting a .459 average last season, Wages also hit 11 home runs (tied for fourth in Gwinnett) led the county with 54 RBIs in 109 at bats as the Stars advanced to the Class A state semifinals. Has not signed to play college ball yet, but is receiving interest from Samford, North Greenville and Kennesaw State, among others
