LAWRENCEVILLE - Sen. Renee Unterman buried her son Monday.
A graveside service was held in Atlanta for Zachariah Albert Unterman, 25, who died Friday. A House Appropriations hearing was canceled so lawmakers could attend the service. Sen. Tommie Williams, the Senate president pro tem, gave a eulogy, and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and numerous legislators from the Gwinnett area attended the service. Unterman plans to sit shiva, the Jewish custom of receiving guests at a house of mourning. Contact her office at 404-656-5040 to make arrangements to visit her Buford home. Survivors also include father Marc Unterman and sister Rachel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angela's House of the Juvenile Justice Fund, 395 Pryor St., Suite 1205, Atlanta, GA 30312.More like this story
