Youth Roundup: Junior Thrashers win title in Chicago

The Atlanta Junior Thrashers mite travel team won the Lincoln Memorial tournament in Chicago on Feb. 14.

The 6- to 8-year-old team went 5-0 at the tournament, winning the championship 7-3 over the Dayton Blue Hawks. The team outscored their opponents 38-8 during the tournament.

Team members are: Mathew Reymond, Nico DePaoli, Trenten Heyde, Connor Mitchell, Jack Dolan, Ryan Holly, Quinn Fahey, Matthew DeRosa, Grant Mitchell, Matthew Connelly, Ryan Gordon, Peyton Emmett, Parker Emmett and Nathaniel MacNeill.

The team is coached by Rick Emmett, Pat Fahey and Chris Dolan. The team manager is Robin DePaoli.

BASEBALL

Bulldogs win Dirty Dozen

The North Gwinnett Bulldogs 10U travel baseball team won the Dawsonville Dirty Dozen Tournament Feb. 15 at Rock Creek Park.

The Bulldogs went 4-0 in the tournament, beating the Central Park Titans 5-3 in the championship game.

Team members are: Hunter Autrey, Daniel Bramlett, Andrew Corn, Brandon Cothren, Charlie Dienhart, Ethan Doggett, Jordan Frye, Chandler Hood, Brock Nowlin, Cooper Sheets and Cole Tovin.

The team is coached by Deron Frye, Scott Autrey, Richard Hood and Cory Tovin.

SOCCER

Dacula wins Cobb Classic

The Dacula 95 White Girls U14 won the Adidas Cobb Classic on Feb. 15, which featured 248 teams across the Southeast.

The championship game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulations and Dacula won the game 2-1 on penalty kicks.

Team members are: Lexi Polino, Cassie Hoffmann, Gabrielle Bevillard, Julie Barton, Victoria Schillinger, Kirsten Whitt, Kristen Kelly, Lora Bruce, Mackenzie Brown, McKenzie Rice, Nadia Aghaie, Paola Rivera, Ruva Chimedza, Samantha Eberhard and Sarah Walls. The team is coached by Francois Joisil.
