ZONING CASES - ON THE AGENDA: Here's a look at rezonings and other requests the Gwinnett County Planning Commission will consider today. The panel meets 7 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville.

1. RZC-08-084 and SUP-08-066 and SUP-08-067 and SUP-08-068: Rezone and special-use permit requests for 8.96 acres of land from R-100 to O-I for 141,596-square-foot day care center and assisted living facility and to allow a building height increase to four stories. Location is 5700 block of Spalding Drive. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

2. RZC-09-001: Rezone 9.54 acres from RM-6 to C-2 for 51,800-square-foot commercial retail use. Location is 1100 block of Scenic Highway. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

3. SUP-09-007: Special-use permit in M-2 zone for 18,500-square-foot solid waste transfer station. Location is 100 block of Alcovy Industrial Boulevard. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

4. SUP-09-010: Special-use permit in C-2 zone for 2,500-square-foot coin laundry. Location is the 6400 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and the 6900 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

5. BRD-09-001: Buffer reduction from 75 to 27.5 feet in C-2 zone for 0.93-acre tract of land. Location is the 5100 block of Stone Mountain Highway. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

6. MUO-08-004: Rezone 73.52 acres from C-2, M-1 and R-100 to MUO for 351,000-square-foot commercial, 617,000-square-foot office, 610 residential units and 300 hotel rooms. Locations are 2400-2600 Buford Drive, 1000 block of Old Peachtree Road, 1100 block of Rock Springs Road, 2400 block of Tech Center Parkway and Drive. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

7. SUP-09-012: Special-use permit in M-1 zone for 73,840-square-foot church. Location is 0-100 block of Micromeritics Drive. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

8. SUP-09-013: Special-use permit in RA-200 zone for 1,347-square-foot cemetery mausoleum. Location is 3600-3700 block of Stone Mountain Highway. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

9. SUP-09-014: Special-use permit in C-2 zone for a taxi cab service. Location is 400 block of Pleasant Hill Road and the 3900 block of Carter Drive. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

10. SUP-09-016: Special-use permit in C-2 zone for a 7,450-square-foot automobile body repair business. Location is the 7100 block of Buford Highway and the 0-100 block of Steve Drive. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.

11. SUP-09-017: Special-use permit in C-2 and R-75 zone for a 5,000-square-foot, used automobile sales and service shop. Location is the 4100 block of Buford Highway. Planning department recommended denial.
