Charles Lee “Buddy” Mensinger, Jr., age 65, of Auburn, GA formerly of Lawrenceville, GA died February 13, 2009 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Wilda Johnson Mensinger; Daughter & Son-in-law, Cindy & Stephen Emerson; Son, Charles “Lee” Mensinger, III; Grandchildren, Kayla Mensinger, Morgan Emerson, J.T. Mensinger, Braden Charles Mensinger, Stephen Emerson, Jr., Casey Stamey; Great Grandson, Sean; 2 Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Frances “Snookie” Mensinger Wilkerson & Husband Bob, Carole “Sissie” Mensinger Michael & Husband Doug; Brothers-in-law, James L. Johnson, Jerre Johnson, Olen Moore; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Special Friends, Jeanne & John Silaz, Larry & Joy Athon. Buddy was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Hattie Lorraine Echols Mensinger & Milton A. Mensinger, Sr., Maternal Grandparents, Kate Brooker Ruldolph & James Ruldoph; Mother, Frances Katherine Rudolph Mensinger; Step-Mother, Pauline Kennedy Wood Mensinger; Father, Charles Lee Mensinger, Sr.; and Granddaughter, Ashlen Kate Emerson, Mother & Father-in-law, R.D. & Margurite Johnson, Sisters-in-law, Almeda Moore, June Johnson; Brother & Sister-in-law, Richard & Ann Johnson. Buddy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and friend that will be greatly missed by his entire family and loyal group of friends. Buddy was born at the old Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, GA on November 26, 1943. He was a 1961 Graduate of Central Gwinnett High School where he played football and was known by his classmates as “Herb” so named by Coach Bartow Jenkins. He served in Vietnam in the United States Air Force and was a General Contractor in the Construction Business having worked along side with his father and brother-in-law, Bob Wilkerson. The Service Celebrating the Life of Charles “Buddy” Mensinger will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Larry Wynn and Rev. Brock Burnett officiating. Interment Gwinnett Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
