SUWANEE - On March 28, as part of the city's grand-opening celebration for its new City Hall, citizens will have the chance to be a part of history by participating in a human aerial art photo commemorating the building.
"If we can pull it off, we're hoping folks will be able to locate themselves in the photo after it's taken, and we'll put the names of all the participants in the time capsule that's being installed at the grand opening, too," said Economic and Community Development Director Denise Brinson. Town Center Park will be the backdrop, according to a news release, for the picture, likely to be taken from a helicopter. Participants will wear the same color or color-coordinated T-shirts to create "an icon or image." Organizers ask that anyone interested in participating register online by March 13 at www.suwanee.com. Everyone who preregisters will receive a shirt to wear in the photo. In order to coordinate placement assignments, those participating are asked to be at Town Center Park between 1:30 and 2 p.m. The photograph is scheduled to be taken between 2:30 and 3 p.m. Brinson said the more people who participate, the better. "We really think this is something our community will be able to look back on and say, "How cool was that?'" she said.More like this story
