ATLANTA -- One of Atlanta historic music and theater venues celebrated 80 years Christmas Day.
The Fox Theatre opened Dec. 25, 1929, with two shows featuring a performance on the "Mighty Mo" Moller organ, the Fox Grand Orchestra playing Sir Edward Elgar's "This Shrine of Beauty," Walt Disney's cartoon "Steamboat Willie" and more.
Billboard Magazine recently named the Fox Theatre the No. 1 non-residency venue (5,000 seats or less) worldwide for the decade, according to Kristen Delaney, director of marketing and public relations.
