Movie: 3 out of 4 stars Disc: 4 out of 4 stars In a manner not unlike that of "Battle for Terra," "9" is an intense, post-apocalyptic animated adventure that is inappropriate for easily upset children but is ideal for discerning adults and sci-fi aficionados. An A-list voice cast (Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer and Jennifer Connelly, among others), gives zip to the angular and sometimes dour artwork and the action sequences are as good as any seen in "Avatar." The spectacular presentation and bounty of extras are sure to swell the numbers of the film's already considerable cult following.
