Brent Kirkland, age 58 of Dacula, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Kirkland was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and was a retired Police Lieutenant of the Gwinnett County Police Department with 21 years of service. Mr. Kirkland is survived by his wife, Lynn Kirkland; Son and Daughter-in-law: Samuel and Hannah Kirkland, Cornelia; Daughter and Son-in-law: Abigail and Joseph Fernandez, Raleigh, North Carolina; Mother: Alline Kirkland; Brother and Sister-in-law: Don and Diane Kirkland, all of Blairsville; 4 Grandchildren; Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 10 Zion Road, Suches, GA 30572. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 PM on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road SW, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30045. 770-962-3100.
