nglourious Basterds Blu-ray (R)
Movie: Three stars out of four Discs: Two and a half stars out of four On the same day it received four Golden Globe nominations, Quentin Tarantino's twisted World War II fantasy hit the shelves and the disc's distributor Universal, is quite lucky the movie itself is so good. While the number of extras is high, most of them are under six minutes in length. There is no making of featurette, the outtakes are just so-so and the only thing truly worthy of inclusion is a round table interview with Tarantino and Brad Pitt. For Blu-ray fans, the pristine video transfer makes it a must-own. For everyone else, a rental (or the lower-priced DVD) will more than suffice. Technical specs: aspect ratio: Widescreen (2.40:1, 1080p), audio: English (DTS HD Master 5.1), French and Spanish (DTS 5.1), subtitles: English SDH, French and Spanish. Special features include: Digital Copy BD-Live Full "Nation's Pride" short film Cast and filmmaker interviews Deleted and extended scenes Poster gallery Trailers Trivia game (Universal, $39.98)More like this story
