Two men allegedly rob acquaintance at gunpoint

NORCROSS -- Two men are behind bars on multiple charges after police said they robbed an acquaintance at gunpoint Wednesday night at a Hillandale Drive apartment complex.

According to reports, Omar Villeda-Tobar and Anthony Conyers were involved in "some sort of quarrel" with at least one alleged victim, using a Ruger P95 9mm pistol to convince him to hand over $25.

Both men are charged with armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and aggravated assault.

Villeda-Tobar faces an additional kidnapping charge.

A police report was not readily available Thursday, but Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli said the suspects knew the victim or victims and lived in the same complex.

Regarding kidnapping charges against Conyers, one warrant accuses him of illegally detaining the victim while the other says Conyers abducted him.

Jail records show both men are being held at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, records show.
