Police ID man killed in car crash

LILBURN -- Police have identified a man killed in a single-car accident Sunday as a 23-year-old Lilburn man.

According to reports, Ryan Crowley was driving westbound on Arcado Road near the intersection of Lockring Drive at about 6:46 a.m. when his 2004 Subaru Impreza left the roadway and struck a tree. Lilburn police officers and investigators with the Gwinnett County Municipal Accident Investigation Network responded.

Gwinnett County firefighters took Crowley to Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, where he later died, said Lilburn police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Weed.

Weed said Crowley was negotiating a curve prior to the crash but could not say what may have contributed to the accident.

"The investigation into this accident remains active," Weed said.

It is unclear whether Crowley was wearing a seatbelt.
