LAWRENCEVILLE -- House Majority Leader Jerry Keen will fill in at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon next week.
State House Speaker Glenn Richardson had been scheduled to speak at the group's legislative luncheon before he announced his resignation last week, sending leaders scrambling for a replacement.
Keen is expected to discuss issues such as water, education, transportation and economic development that the Legislature will be tackling in January.
Chamber spokesman Demming Bass said the group is also hoping to schedule Speaker Pro Tem Mark Burkhalter.
The luncheon is scheduled for noon Dec. 16 at the Gwinnett Place Marriott. Cost is $45 for Chamber members and $55 for non-members.
