LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gwinnett County Public Schools students with special needs and their parents and guardians are invited to meet college recruiters and learn about higher education options during a college fair today.
The College Fair for Students with Disabilities will take place from noon to 3 p.m. today at the school system's Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road N.W., in Suwanee.
Representatives from 30 colleges and universities will be available to provide students and their families with information about how they can meet students' special needs, according to a news release. Representatives from military institutions will also be present.
Participants will learn about special accommodations the schools offer, what students and parents should be doing to be college ready and opportunities for financial aid, the news release states.
The college fair is sponsored by Gwinnett County Public Schools and the Area II Gwinnett Council of PTAs, which includes schools in the Collins Hill, Duluth, Mountain View, Norcross, North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge clusters.
