NORCROSS -- What is expected to be Alton Brown's only appearance in Georgia promoting his latest book is happening right here in Gwinnett.
The creator and host of the Food Network show "Good Eats" has commemorated the 10th anniversary of his TV series with the publication of a companion book, "Good Eats: The Early Years."
The book tracks each of the first 80 episodes of the series, through season six, in individual chapters. The first of two volumes, "The Early Years" includes updated recipes, behind-the-scenes photos, food-science information, jokes and trivia, and Brown's own illustrations. It made the New York Times Bestseller list for hardcover advice shortly after its early October release.
Brown's follow-up is expected out next fall.
In the meantime, fans of the show and the Georgia resident's comedic approach to cooking and food science, and those curious to see what all the fuss is about, will have the opportunity to meet the chef-cinematographer-author-commentator Saturday at BJ's Wholesale Club in Norcross. The event is free and open to the public and will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For more information on Brown, his book and the signing, check out Brown's Web site at www.altonbrown.com.
