SNELLVILLE Three Shiloh seniors scored in double digits Tuesday night as the Generals topped Berkmar 59-26 and gave head coach Dale Grant his 100th career win.
Tajshiana Westbrooks led Shiloh (4-1, 1-0) with 14 points while Pilar Smith scored 13 points. Alyssa Aitken added 10 point and four blocks while Paden Smith chipped in with seven points.
Brookwood 73, Grayson 50
LOGANVILLE Brookwood topped Grayson 73-50 on Tuesday night in its Region 8-AAAAA opener.
Leading the Broncos (3-1, 1-0) were Katie Mallow with 29 points, Jazmine Jackson with 12 points and Rebecca Walker with 10 points.
Grayson (2-2, 0-1) was led by Taren White, who had 17 points, five rebounds and four steals.
Central Gwinnett 66, Meadowcreek 39
NORCROSS Central Gwinnett cruised in its Region 8-AAAAA opener on Tuesday, topping Meadowcreek 66-39.
Bri Hampton hit four 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead Central (2-2, 1-0) while Irion Conaler added 12 points.
Dacula 49, South 41
DACULA Breanna Overby finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals on Tuesday to help Dacula hold off South Gwinnett 49-41 in Region 8-AAAAA play.
Kelsey Hutchins added nine points and two rebounds for Dacula while China Vinson finished with eight points and five assists.
Northview 52, Collins Hill 44
SUWANEE Collins Hill opened its Region 7-AAAAA schedule on Tuesday night with a 52-44 loss to Northview.
Jordan Ulm led Collins Hill (2-2, 0-1) with 23 points.
Peachtree Ridge 61, North Forsyth 52
SUWANEE Brittany Jack and Gabby Cole scored 19 points each on Tuesday, helping Peachtree Ridge open its Region 7-AAAAA schedule with a 61-52 win over North Forsyth.
Erika Waters added 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Lions (4-1, 1-0).
Loganville 50, Winder-Barrow 38
WINDER Loganville evened its record at 2-2 on Tuesday with its 50-38 win over Winder-Barrow.
Leading Loganville in scoring was Enisha Donley with 18 points.
Buford 72, West Forsyth 41
BUFORD Buford opened its season on Tuesday night by beating West Forsyth 72-41.
Buford's Andraya Carter led all scorers with 24 points.
GAC 63, Sandy Creek 35
NORCROSS Sierra Lawrence scored 15 points and Kristina Nelson added 12 on Tuesday to lead Greater Atlanta Christian to a 63-35 win over Sandy Creek.
GAC (3-1) also received 11 points from Clarke Boards and nine points, seven assists and six rebounds from Chaney Means.
Paideia 39, Providence 24
LILBURN Providence suffered its fourth straight loss on Tuesday, falling 39-24 to Paideia.
Jessie Sherman and Jessie Cowalewicz each scored six points for the Stars (0-4).
Central Gwinnett 71, Meadowcreek 64, OT
NORCROSS Led by 28 points from Jordan Adams, Central Gwinnett edged Meadowcreek 71-64 in overtime on Tuesday in a Region 8-AAAAA game.
Adams, who scored 18 in the fourth to help erase a 14-point deficit with just over four minutes to play, hit three free throws at the end of regulation to tie it at 62.
Central (4-0, 1-0) also received 18 points from Ayo Madamidola.
Meadowcreek (1-1, 0-1) was led by 19 points and 14 rebounds from Terrence Glass.
Grayson 67, Brookwood 66
LOGANVILLE Andrew Osemhen's dunk with five seconds left to play was enough to give Grayson a 67-66 win over Brookwood on Tuesday in Region 8-AAAAA play.
Osemhen finished with 18 points to lead the Rams (4-0, 1-0) while Javarris Smith added 14 points.
Shiloh 47, Berkmar 45, OT
SNELLVILLE Shiloh trailed by 13 points at the half but rallied to defeat Region 8-AAAAA foe Berkmar 47-45 in overtime on Tuesday night.
Laterrance Nelson scored 13 to lead Shiloh (2-0, 1-0) while Corbyn Moye scored 11. Devonta Taylor also helped with seven points.
Brandon Thompson led Berkmar in scoring with 13 points.
South 79, Dacula 70
DACULA Javonte Maynor led all players with 26 points Tuesday night, guiding South Gwinnett past Dacula 79-70 in Region 8-AAAAA. Jeffery Quarterman added 15 points for South.
Xavier Okoro led Dacula (1-3, 0-1) with 18 points and nine rebounds while Shay Agboola finished with 12 points and nine boards.
Peachtree Ridge 81, North Forsyth 47
SUWANEE Peachtree Ridge improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in Region 7-AAAAA on Tuesday by pounding North Forsyth 81-47.
Corey Heyward led the Lions with 13 points while C.J. Blackwell and Jordan Grant each scored 12 points.
Collins Hill 69,
SUWANEE Collins Hill led 34-32 at the half and pulled away in the final two quarters for a 69-56 win over Northview on Tuesday in Region 7-AAAAA action.
Saah Nimley poured in 34 points to lead Collins Hill (4-1, 1-0) while Herdie Lawrence chipped in with 11 points. Nimley also finished with eight steals and seven assists.
GAC 80, Sandy Creek 45
NORCROSS Greater Atlanta Christian started its season in strong fashion Tuesday night with an 80-45 win over Sandy Creek.
Malcolm Brogdon scored 22 points to lead GAC (1-0) with Trent Wiedeman adding 19 points and Elliott Long scoring 10 points.
Buford 44, West Forsyth 30
BUFORD Kyle Kellam scored 10 points on Tuesday to help give Buford a 44-30 season-opening win over West Forsyth.
Zac Lynn and Payton Wehunt each added nine points for the Wolves (1-0).
Wesleyan 61, W.D. Mohammed 34
NORCROSS Griffin Schamp scored 18 points Tuesday night in leading Wesleyan to a 61-34 win over W.D. Mohammed.
Ty Teague added 12 points for Wesleyan (3-1, 1-0) while Shane Smith finished with 11 points.
Paideia 57, Providence 45
LILBURN Paideia handed Providence its first loss of the year, topping the Stars 57-45 on Tuesday.
Nate Bucher of Providence (3-1, 0-1) led all players with 25 points.
Dacula tops Central, West Hall
GAINESVILLE Tyler Cottingham (140 pounds) delivered the winning pin on Dacula defeating Central Gwinnett and West Hall on Tuesday.
Dacula (11-1) topped Central 46-23 while defeating West Hall 42-30. Wrestlers going 2-0 on the day were Nathan Oertley, Brandon Bullock, Tevin Timmons, Locklin Hinton, Zeke Hunt and Philip Bowman.
Mustangs record first win
JONESBORO Meadowcreek defeated Jonesboro 54-30 on Tuesday night for its first win of the season. The Mustangs also wrestled well in a 48-33 loss to Eagle's Landing before falling 65-18 to McIntosh.
Two Mustangs went 3-0 on the night in Joe Pardo (189 pounds) and Montral Brown (215) while John Nguyen, Robert Nguyen, Rene Beluna, Richard Williams and Alex Steele each went 2-1.
