ATLANTA - A fugitive who authorities believe killed an Atlanta businessman because he was interfering in her escort business has been arrested in Texas by federal agents.
Kisha Marie Rutledge was arrested at a west Houston home Wednesday after investigators received several tips, including one from someone who saw her on a recent episode of 'America's Most Wanted,' said U.S. Marshals Inspector Alex Camacho. Rutledge is in a Houston jail awaiting extradition back to Georgia to face the murder charge. She has been sought by federal agents since the June 2007 killing of Atlanta businessman Keith Brown, who was shot to death in his apartment complex in the ritzy north Atlanta suburb of Milton. Authorities originally believed Brown, 40, was targeted because he often carried a large wad of cash. But they said a deeper investigation revealed that Brown was a frequent client of an escort ring run by Rutledge. Camacho said Rutledge was infuriated that Brown was apparently trying to cut her out of her profits by giving money directly to the prostitutes.More like this story
