Prep Roundup: Mill Creek stays undefeated 9-0

HOSCHTON - Mill Creek got 17 kills from Mo Simmons as the Hawks defeated Dacula 25-12, 25-15 and Johns Creek 25-18, 25-7 on Thursday. The win keeps Mill Creek undefeated for the season at 9-0.

Lauren Rhodes had eight kills, Jordan Rooks had four kills and Lindsay Davis had seven kills. Ashley Jackson made 37 assists.

Dacula (2-4) bounced back from its loss to Mill Creek and defeated Johns Creek 28-26, 27-25 and.

Courtney Weider had 29 digs and five kills, Andrea Riker had 18 digs and Jordan Ferrer added 16 digs.


Norcross falls to Northview

NORCROSS - Norcross lost its season opener to defending state champion Northview 15-25, 16-25, 25-22, 22-25 on Thursday.

Rachel Monteagudo had 22 assists, Brianna Jordan had 13 kills and six aces, Sara Snider had 10 digs and Alex DeMercy had eight kills.

Shiloh wins two

SNELLVILLE - Shiloh defeated Duluth 25-8, 25-16 and Druid Hills 25-3, 25-1 on Thursday.

Jordyn Wright had six assists and five blocks. Raven Black had six kills and Devotion Watson added five blocks and four kills for the Generals (5-1).

Panthers beat Archer

LAWRENCEVILLE - Parkview defeated first-year program Archer 25-8, 25-20, 25-21 on Thursday.

Buford splits

GAINESVILLE - Buford lost to North Hall 25-13, 25-10 and defeated West Hall 26-24, 13-25, 25-23 on Thursday.

Morgan Nash had seven kills for the Wolves (6-7), while Jenna Falletta had six aces and 12 assists and Nancy Mattox had three blocks and five kills.

Providence wins two

SUWANEE - Providence defeated Berkmar 25-10, 25-12 and Central Gwinnett 25-5, 25-18 on Thursday.

Caroline Adams had 11 kills and seven aces on the night, Mandy Parker had six aces, Melanie Blackburn had 16 sets, two kills and four aces, and Maddie Jones added six aces for the Stars (6-0).

Wesleyan splits

ATLANTA - Wesleyan lost to Marist 25-23, 19-25, 17-25 and beat McIntosh 25-0, 25-20 on Thursday.

Anna Keappler had 17 assists and six digs, Maggie Smith had four aces, 24 assists and seven digs, Wilson Sprinkle had 10 digs and Grace Leah Baughn had seven kills and 14 digs.

Wesleyan (4-5) will host the Top 10 Play Date on Saturday.

Hebron splits

APALACHEE - Hebron beat Apalachee 25-13, 25-10 and lost to Heritage 14-25, 16-25 on Thursday.

Courtney Bishop had 13 kills and six aces, Elise Murray had 10 kills, Becky Conner had seven kills, Savannah Blalock added 11 assists and Maddie Roof had 10 assists and five kills for the Lions (6-6).


Shiloh 6, South Gwinnett 1

SNELLVILLE - Monet Daly had six strike outs in Shiloh's 6-1 win over South Gwinnett on Thursday.

Daly (3-1) allowed two walks and three hits.

Tonisha Callaway, Jenna Carr and Amber Stillwell each went 1-for-3. Aynna Spivey was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Allison Lynn was 2-for-3 for the Generals (6-2).

Mountain View 5, Archer 3

LAWRENCEVILLE - Danielle Davis had 11 strike outs to lead Mountain View to a 5-3 win over Archer on Thursday.

Davis (2-2) pitched seven innings, allowing two hits and three runs for the Bears (3-5).

Taylor Miller was 2-for-4 with a run, Nikki Robinson was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Brittney Dickey and Breannah McCrary each had a hit and an RBI.

Dacula 2, Grayson 1

DACULA - Alex Payne was the winning pitcher for Dacula in the Falcons' 2-1 win over Grayson on Thursday in a non-region game.

Jenny Willis was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Falcons (6-2-1).

Northview 8, Mill Creek 5

HOSCHTON - Mill Creek lost to Northview 8-5 on Thursday.

Jenna Holland was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, Anyssa Robles was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Alissay Stringer was 1-for-2 with a run and a stolen base.
