Church to give away clothes

DULUTH - Duluth Church of Christ will host its annual free Clothing Give-A-Way from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 29 at 3239 Highway 120 in Duluth. Clothing for men, women and children will be available, along with toys, small appliances and furniture. For more information, call 770-476-2159.

Girl Scouts troop meetings held

DULUTH - The Duluth Service Unit of the Girl Scout Council of Greater Atlanta will hold its 2009-10 Troop Organizational Meetings Aug. 29 at Duluth United Methodist Church Scout Hut, 3208 Highway 120 in Duluth. New and existing troops in the Duluth area are encouraged to attend, as both leaders and girls alike are sought to join the organization.

DULUTH - Louise Radloff Middle School in Duluth is in need of mentors. There are several available time slots to choose from to assist in reading or math. hYPe to meet at Dave & Buster's

DULUTH - hYPe, Gwinnett's leading Young Professionals organization, will host its quarterly event from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 27 at Dave & Buster's, 400 Ventura Drive in Duluth. hYPe will treat attendees to two complimentary drinks and free appetizers, and the first 75 people to arrive will receive complimentary game cards. hYPe requests donations of school supplies, including backpacks, 3-ring binders, pens, pencils, crayons and paper, for the Norcross Co-Op.
