Griffith returns to rehab for 'routine' visit

NEW YORK - Melanie Griffith's publicist said the actress has returned to a rehab facility to 'reinforce her commitment to stay healthy.'

Spokeswoman Robin Baum said the 52-year-old Griffith checked in as 'part of a routine plan.'

Griffith went to rehab in 1988 to fight addictions to alcohol and cocaine. She went again in 2000 for treatment for an addiction to painkillers.

Baum said this latest visit was part of a plan developed years ago between Griffith and her doctors.

Chris Brown's sentencing moved up

LOS ANGELES - Prosecutors said Chris Brown's sentencing for beating Rihanna has been moved up at his lawyer's request.

Brown was scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, but the hearing has been rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Brown is expected to receive five years of probation and six months of community labor.

His sentencing earlier this month was delayed after a judge learned that authorities in Virginia, where Brown wants to serve probation, hadn't yet agreed to a probation plan.

Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in June. He was arrested after the pair fought hours before February's Grammys.
