Carey Varn Odum, age 61 of Duluth, died August 25, 2009. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday August 26, 2009 at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel, with Rev. Howard Greer officiating. Interment Duluth Church Cemetery. Mr. Odum was born in Ware County, GA and was a 1966 graduate of Waycross High School. He was maintenance supervisor with Mercer University, Atlanta Campus and was a Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Courtney and Thomas Frey, of Bogart, granddaughters Alyssa and Natalie, brother and sister-in-law, A. Wallace Odum Jr. and Ann of Duluth, sisters Faye Barker of Valdosta, Dale Barrow and her husband Gene of Mount Holly, NC, Patsy Hickox and her husband Virgil of Nashville, GA, numerous nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Disabled Veterans #55, 454 County Line Rd, Covington, GA 30016. The family will receive friends Wednesday 1:00 PM until time of service at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory Duluth Chapel 770-476-2535.
