Mr. Robert J. Brown, age 63, of Winder, GA passed away on Monday, August 24, 2009. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by: father, Julius Brown. Mr. Brown is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Mrs. Peggy Brown, Winder, GA; daughters, Terri Turpin, Cumming, GA and Tiffany Pence, Winder, GA; son, Rob Brown, Winder, GA; honorary son, Evan Romines, Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Holly and Parker Turpin, Blake and Kinsleigh Pence, Alyssa Robby, and Kami and Faith Brown; mother, Mrs. Jo C. Brown, Cleveland, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alton and Sue Brown, Monroe, GA and Tony and Amanda Brown, Cleveland, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Jarmon, Boaz, AL; aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Brown was born on November 24, 1945 in White County, GA. Mr. Brown retired after 25 years of service with the Doraville Police Department. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Lawrenceville where he greeted everyone with a smile. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA with Rev. Kenny Kuykendall, Rev Lloyd Ferguson, and Dr. Thurman Wade officiating with remains placed in state at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at Cross Roads Baptist Church on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 1391 Braselton Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
