Students organize Children's Healthcare event

ATLANTA - Members of the Collins Hill High School baseball and football programs took to the greens to raise some green for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

A group of 20 student volunteers organized the 15th annual Diamond Grid-Iron Golf Classic at Collins Hill Country Club on June 22. Each team agreed to donate $5,000 from its share of the event's proceeds to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as part of a challenge from Delta Community Credit Union.

The teams and their coaches presented the donation to Sharon Robinson of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta on Aug. 4 at the Collins Hill High School Field House.

Delta Community encourages metro Atlanta students to contribute to their communities through Serve & Deserve, which allows athletic teams and extracurricular organizations at metro Atlanta high schools to raise money to support local charities and their individual programs.

High school programs interested in more information on the Serve & Deserve program can call Nick McMillan at 404-677-8630 or e-mail nick.mcmillan@deltacommunity.cu.com.
