DULUTH - With the exterior work now started, the new M International Market Place is slowly beginning to come to life at Gwinnett Place Mall.
The upscale, multicultural department store, set to open later this year or early next year in the former Macy's store, will be a first of its kind in the United States and is specifically fashioned after Korean and Japanese luxury shopping plazas. "We are thrilled to welcome this new concept to Gwinnett Place Mall," said Shelley Korenbrot, a mall spokeswoman. "It will be a dynamic addition to the center and bring an entirely new retail experience to the Atlanta area." To celebrate and welcome its newest tenant, the mall will host a series of Korean cultural events Saturday. At the event, patrons will be able to sample authentic Asian cuisine while also experiencing the Asian Arts with performances by the Chinese-American Cultural Performing Group, the Taiwanese School of Atlanta and the Shaolin Institute featuring the Shaolin Animal Mascots "The Magnificent Five."More like this story
