LILBURN - A Lilburn man charged with distribution of child pornography for comments police say he made in an online chat room will remain in jail at least another week.
Bish Shorrosh, 51, waived a probable cause hearing Tuesday morning in Gwinnett Superior Court. His next chance at bond will come at a similar hearing next Tuesday, said Lilburn police spokesman Det. Matt Lake.
Lake said police seized eight computers from Shorrosh's home that are being trawled for evidence by an FBI task force. The computers have not yielded any explicit material, but the analysis is expected to take several days, Lake said.
Shorrosh and his attorney "want to see exactly what we find on the computers" before moving forward, Lake said.
Police say Shorrosh wrote to a woman in Texas that he "liked teen boys" and "gurls (sic) when they first start growing physically" and similar statements during an explicit online chat Aug. 4.
The woman had met Shorrosh - who was posing as a 45-year-old Lilburn man named "Matthew" - on the networking site Tagged.com, according to Lilburn police. They exchanged e-mail addresses and carried the conversation to a live Yahoo chat line. It's there that police believe the conversation turned lurid.
The woman told police she'd also reported Shorrosh's profile to Tagged.com.
