LAWRENCEVILLE - Police have identified three teens they say robbed a Chinese restaurant in February after pointing fake handguns at an employee.
On Friday, arrest warrants were issued for Francisco Gutierrez, 17, of Dacula, Maurice Bonar, 18, of Auburn, and Kenneth Ketcham, 17, also of Auburn, charging the trio with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony. According to police, the three suspects - wearing all black - entered the Hong Kong restaurant on North Brown Road through a back door just after 10 p.m. They went to the front of the building and confronted an employee, reports said, brandishing what appeared to be small handguns and demanding that he open the register. The employee told police he was able to fight off the small-in-stature intruders and chase them out the back door before they could take anything. It is unclear what led authorities to name Ketcham, Gutierrez and Bonar as suspects, but the initial police report said eyewitnesses - and possibly surveillance video - placed the three teens at a nearby Burger King just before the robbery. Police also recovered a black bandanna and red glove dropped by one of the alleged robbers inside the Hong Kong restaurant.
