DULUTH - In an annual effort to bridge the gap between last season and the upcoming one, the Gwinnett Gladiators are holding a two-hour bash at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Thursday.
The "Summer Shindig" includes an equipment and merchandise sale, a chalk talk for season-ticket holders and the game-worn jersey auction. The event starts at 7 p.m. with an equipment sale in the team's locker room and lasts until 9 p.m. The auction, always a highlight, begins at 8 p.m. and features the jerseys worn by the team during the 2008-09 season. Bids start at $250. Cash, charge or check accepted. The Gladiators aren't revealing their new merchandise until opening night on Oct. 17, but plenty of traditional options will be available all evening for purchase. Ticket packages are also available for purchase at the event and you can take a look at the actual seat options inside the arena before choosing. The sales staff will be on hand all night to answer questions and help select the best plan, up to and including full season tickets. Fans can also renew their tickets. Current season ticket holders and anyone planning to become one for the 2009-10 season can take part in Thursday's chalk talk. Gladiators head coach Jeff Pyle, general manager Steve Chapman and owner Toby Jeffries will all be in the arena's club lounge at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the upcoming season and how the team is shaping up.More like this story
