M. Casimera (Kay (Casi)) M. Grassler, age 94, of Buford, GA passed away Friday, July 31, 2009 at home in God's care without struggle. Mrs. Grassler, the daughter of the late Joseph and Julianna Zymroz was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Grassler; her sisters, Anna Babcock, Helen Mack, Mary Zymroz and Frances Sobczyk; her brothers, Louis Zymroz and Teddy Zymroz. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Anne Grassler of Staunton, Virginia; her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Gary Huddleston of Buford, GA; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Jane Zymroz and Leo and Helen Zymroz of Niagara Falls; her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Leo Garvey of Marietta, OH; her grandchildren, David Brummel of Atlanta, GA and Jennifer and Julie Grassler, of Bedford, VA; step-grandchildren, Vickie Lynne Jackson and Patrick Arnold, both of Dallas, TX; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and one nephew. Mrs. Grassler studied nursing under the tutelage of the Sisters of Charity in Buffalo, New York and received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from the Education Department of the University of the State of New York. She worked for many years at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara Falls, followed by years of her nursing care with Dr. Lawrence Carlino. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Grassler lived in Niagara Falls until his retirement in 1969, when they moved to Clearwater, FL. Kay continued to live in Clearwater after Pete's passing in 1981 until 1999, when she moved to live with her daughter, Betty and son-in-law, Gary Huddleston in Buford, GA. She and her husband were members of Holy Trinity RC Church in Niagara Falls. She was a member and proud Eucharistic Minister of St. Michael's RC Church in Clearwater, FL, and a member of Prince of Peace RC Church in Buford, GA. Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory of Buford, GA will prepare Casi for her final resting place in her hometown of Niagara Falls, New York, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at The Divine Mercy RC Church at 9:30 AM.
