Pedestrian struck, killed in Norcross

A woman was killed just before 5 p.m. Tuesday when she was struck by a passenger vehicle in Norcross, police said.

The incident happened at Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Forest Vale Drive, according to Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman.

Spellman classified the incident as "passenger car vs. pedestrian" but said it is being investigated and that details are limited.

"I am awaiting further detail from the accident investigator," Spellman said.

The woman, whose name and age was unavailable, died on the scene.

Spellman said it is unclear if any charges are forthcoming.
