Gwinnett Daily Post
BUFORD - The future of what Marriott Courtyard hotels will look like has already shown itself in Gwinnett with the new 110-room facility at 1405 Mall of Georgia Blvd. The reinvented design for Courtyard, which Marriott plans to roll out nationwide in all future Courtyard hotels, has in mind the realities of 21st century living.
At the heart of this effort is a signature element of the new Courtyard lobby - a 52-inch LCD touch screen that contains local information, maps, weather and news. Guests can use the touch screen to also find restaurants, local attractions and to obtain directions. The new Courtyard also features a lobby-level business library, complete with individual workstations, ergonomic chairs, personal computers, copying and printing equipment and complimentary high-speed Internet access.
Other amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool, a fitness center and three different restaurant options. The brand's traditional front desk has also been replaced with "welcome podiums," the thought being they'd create a more personal and private interaction with guests upon checking in.
