Gwinnett Daily Post
Gwinnett firefighters said the evening thunderstorm that passed through the county Tuesday kept them busy.
Calls from transformer fires to power lines down poured in over the course of the evening, said Gwinnett fire spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge.
In Lawrenceville, a 15-year-old girl was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for evaluation after reportedly being in the area of a lightning strike. When firefighters responded to the 200 block of Club Lakes Parkway, they found the girl was suffering from numbness to her back and legs.
A home in the 1700 block of Litchfield Road, Snellville, was damaged when a large tree fell on the roof, Rutledge said, caving in the roof near the back of the home and allowing rain water to get inside. No one was injured.
Rutledge said there were also multiple reports of downed power lines and power outages in the area of Arcado Road in Lilburn.
