Prep Roundup: Adams leads Eagles past Hawks

SUWANEE - Michael Adams went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run as Collins Hill beat Mill Creek 10-6 on Wednesday.

Garitt Church went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Chris McGowan was 2-for-4 on the day. Trevor Cortesi was 2-for-3 for Collins Hill (17-8).

Reed Buck got the win after giving up four hits and three runs in two innings, and Morgan Ownbey got the save after pitching an inning for the Eagles.

Mill Creek's (17-8, 11-6) Greg Brody went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Jake German was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Travis Hammond went 2-for-3 with an RBI.


Peachtree Ridge 7, Duluth 0

LILBURN - Aidan McLaughlin (4-2) pitched a complete game, giving up two hits, a walk and struck out 11 batters as Peachtree Ridge shut out Duluth 7-0 on Wednesday.

Jelaney Johnson was 1-for-3 with a home run, while Chris Brunatti was 2-for-3 with a double. Chaz Walker went 1-for-1 with an RBI, while Brett Polachek and Mitchell Williford each went 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Lions (12-13, 7-10.)

North Gwinnett 3, Northview 2

DULUTH - Wyatt Brown got the win after throwing six innings and giving up three hits, two earned runs, and striking out five, helping North Gwinnett take a 3-2 win over Northview on Wednesday.

Chad White tossed the seventh inning and struck out two to get his first save of the year.

Chris Hawkins went 2-for-4 with a double and had an RBI, while Scotty McQueen and Jeremy Burns also had an RBI apiece for North (14-11, 11-6).

Brookwood 15, Berkmar 0

LILBURN - Wes Coberly went four innings, gave up a hit, three walks and struck out five batters to help Brookwood shut out Berkmar 15-0 on Wednesday.

Wade Brogdon went 3-for-3, Michael Moeck was 2-for-2 and Michael Brown went 1-for-1 for the Broncos (15-9, 9-4).

South 7, Shiloh 0

SNELLVILLE - Nick Blount (6-0) gave up two hits in seven innings to shut out Shiloh 7-0 on Wednesday.

At the plate, Blount was 2-for-3 with a home run, while Kenny Sanderson was 3-for-4 with a home run. Michael Moeller was 2-for-4 for the day, Kent Rollins went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Michael Polascik went 3-for-4 for the Comets (18-6, 11-2).

Parkview 13, Dacula 10

LILBURN - Freshman Matt Olson got the first win of his varsity career after pitching 51/3 innings, giving up eight hits, six runs and four earned runs as Parkview defeated Dacula 13-10 on Wednesday.

Max Caron came in as relief and pitched 12/3 inning and gave up three hits and three earned runs.

At the plate, Olson was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two doubles, while Matt Foster went 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs. Brandon Kregel was 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs for the day, while Brandon Jacobs also hit a home run for the Panthers. Austin Wheeler went 2-for-3 with two doubles to help Parkview improve 14-11 overall, and 10-3 in region.

Dacula's Tripp Calhoun went 1-for-1 with a grand slam, while Billy Judd was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Brad Mills was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and three RBIs, while Chris Owens and Jeremy Kien was 2-for-4 for Dacula (9-15, 4-9). Austin Meyer (2-2) got the loss for the Falcons after tossing six innings and giving up six earned runs.

Meadowcreek 9, North Clayton 4

COLLEGE PARK - Cory Huck (4-5) gave up five hits and struck out 11 as Meadowcreek topped North Clayton 9-4 on Wednesday.

Carlos Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a triple, while Allan Hernandez went 2-for-2 for the Mustangs. Cameron Shafer and Juan Lopez each went 1-for-4 for Meadowcreek (8-12).


GAC 3, Jefferson 0

JEFFERSON - Greater Atlanta Christian took a 3-0 victory over Jefferson in the second round of the state playoffs on Wednesday.

Jessica Tuggle earned a point at No. 2 singles, while Rebecca Gray and Elizabeth McMurray helped at No. 1 doubles. Rachel Gray and Jacqueline Tate contributed a point at No. 3 doubles for the Spartans.
